From September, 10th to 21st at the University of Antananarivo

IT-Security Summer School

The IT-Security summer school is organized through the collaboration between the University of Passau, the Chair of Security in Information Systems in collaboration with the University of Antananarivo, through the MISA. It is the first collaboration of its kind in Madagascar in the field of cyber-security.

Cyber secuirty is a very demanded and practice-relevant area in the digital era. During two weeks, participants in the Summer School will have the chance to learn, discuss, and exchange ideas on hot topics in IT-Security with specialists in the field from both research and industry in Germany.

Program

Week 1

The first week gets the participants immersed in the latest research topics in IT-Security with professors from different universities in Germany. Participants will be introduced to trending topics related to cyber security and to the lecturers’ domain of research.

Application

Masters and PHD students from the Universities in Antananarivo who fulfilled the listed requirements below are invited to apply. Note that during the summer school, we do not offer accommodation support.

  • Very good English
  • Strong interest in and curiosity about topics related to IT and Cyber security
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and command lines
  • Basic understanding of encryption and relational databases
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, HTTP(s)
  • Good knowledge of one scripting language (Python, Javascript,...) and one programming language (C++, Java, Go...)
